EU pig prices: Inconsistent development!
EU - For the most part, quotations are increasing on the European finished pig market. |
At the end of the holiday season, and with improved export opportunities, the slaughter pig market appears smooth in Northern and Central Europe.
As a consequence, quotations continue to slightly step up in Denmark, France, Belgium, Austria and Germany. But in Spain, as tourists are leaving the country, the higher-than-average prices achieved during the summer months can no longer be maintained. Here, the corrected quotation clearly backs down to EUR 1.46 per kg slaughter weight.
Reports from European slaughter companies say that the meat business has started to attenuate a little over the past few days. However, the overall positive trend could remain. As the export business with Japan and Russia is recovering in Denmark, the Danish quotation is slightly increasing.
