Russia Extends Meat Imports Controls Deadline
RUSSIA - The Russian Federal Customs Service (Customs) has published a new order that extends the implementation date of the revised list of approved entry points authorised to handle meat imports to 17 April. Many ports in the Russian Far East Customs Directorate and the North West Customs Directorate, which handle more than 85 per cent of Russian meat imports, are currently missing from the list of approved entry points and are seeking inclusion in the list.
The new list of approved entry points authorised to handle meat products has not been amended since its inception.
The two month extension will give officials from the Russian Far East Customs Directorate and the North West Customs Directorate additional time to take necessary action to get their entry points added to the list.
The original text of the implementing decree can be seen on the website of the Russian Federal Customs Service http://customs.consultant.ru/doc.asp?ID=7407.
