Print This Page NPPC Welcomes Farm Bill Funding Agreement
US - “The National Pork Producers Council (NPPC) has congratulated members of the House-Senate Farm Bill conference committee on reaching a broad funding agreement.It says that the agreement is a significant step toward completing a 2008 Farm Bill, although recognises that some key policy issues have yet to be resolved NPPC has confirmed that it is both ready and willing to work constructively to help craft a final bill - a policy that should maintain the US pork industry’s domestic and international competitive edge.
It says that finalising a 2008 Farm Bill is now of paramount importance to pork producers, given the dire economic circumstances and looming crisis the industry is now faced with.
