Pig Farmers Aided by Restaurant

UK - Sutherland House hotel and restaurant at Southwold in Suffolk has been giving back £1 to the pig industry for each Blythburgh Free Range Pork main course it serves.

National Pig Association - The voice of the UK pig industry

"We want to do our bit for the British Pigs Are Worth It Campaign, said the hotel. As a result, Jimmy Butler, of Blythburgh Free Range Pork, has been able to make a £251 donation to the campaign.

"Initiatives whereby foodservice outlets ‘adopt’ a farmer are rare but I hope that the work you have been doing with Sutherland House can now be replicated by other businesses as it is one of a number of ways in which the difficulties within our industry can be highlighted to consumers in a positive manner," said BPEX chairman Stewart Houston in a letter of thanks.

Sutherland House head chef Alan Paton recently returned from London with three gold medals for pork-based products using Jimmy Butler's Blythburgh Free Range Pork.
