EU Pig Prices: Slaughter Pig Prices Pause During Euro 2008
EU - Now that the first Euro 2008 goal's been scored, the slaughter pig prices seem to have seen an intermission for a while this week.According to Schweine.net, optimism is prevalent in Spain, Denmark, France and Eastern Europe. France is reported to have raised pork prices most significantly, where a corrected 6 cents’ plus was noted. Denmark too has increased it's prices by nearly 3 cents. Spain has resumed it's earlier position (at the top) followed by Germany.

Germany is on the offside, as are the Netherlands as its persecutor, and as Belgium and Austria are. Although supply goes on being below average, the only achievement for producers are the steady prices. Last week's price rises brought about lower margins for the slaughter companies. Austria reports that sausages for the Euro 2008 football were produced.
Trend: This week too, the price changes again are determined by the weather. The Euro 2008 supporters certainly won't be asking just for beer when they fire the barbecue grill on a balmy summer evening. Pig supply is not expected to see a large increase.
