Massive Financial Injection for New Projects
RUSSIA - The government has announced a subsidy of 74 billion rubles to support new animal production and processing projects.Meat Russia reports that the issue on additional financing of projects started in the animal breeding last year is almost decided. Minister of Agriculture, Elena Skrynnik, has said the amount will be 74 billion rubles (RUB).
Rosselkhozbank will give credits to the amount of RUB 46 billion for the completion, reconstruction and re-equipment of 331 animal breeding and processing facilities. The corresponding agreement with Sberbank (Savings Bank of Russia) is to be signed this week as well, and it will provide another RUB 24 billion.
In addition, the minister said that the arrangements about financing new projects in the sector of dairy and beef cattle breeding had been reached with the Ministry of Finance. Their implementation will require about RUB 72 billion.
"We expect that the Russian government will adopt the resolution on the prolongation of the investment projects for APK for three years by the end of next week," the Russian Ministry of Agriculture added.
