Print This Page Danish Crown Under Fire
DENMARK - The management of Danish Crown reacted too late to the pig industry crisis, says president of Danish Agricultural Council Peter Gaemelke.He says Danish Crown's plans to cut costs in its Danish slaughterhouse operation are fine - but a year too late. Why didn't it realise earlier that its higher-cost slaughterhouses could not compete with German slaughterhouses? he asked.
He says he too will send weaners to Germany if Danish Crown continues to be incapable of paying a price as good as the German price.
