Big Dutchman Pig Division at World Pork Expo
US - In spite of all negative circumstances, such as economic downturn in pig farming, the financial crisis in general and the H1N1 influenza, Big Dutchman USA recently experienced a successful World Pork Expo.

The show in Des Moines, Iowa, USA attracted more visitors than careful predictions had anticipated. And due to the sophisticated technologies Big Dutchman Pig Division had on display, their booth became a well visited center for innovative and high-tech pig production systems.
The biggest magnet to the Big Dutchman booth was the CALLMATIC 2 electronic sow feeding system (ESF) with its new controller 505. Also on display was the manure separator OptiSep.
"OptiSep drew more attention than we ever expected, and we will be following up on quite a few interested prospects," sales manager Hans Ulrich commented on the success of the Big Dutchman novelty. Big Dutchman also introduced MixPump to the industry, a new compact liquid feeding system which needs no tanks or computers to operate.
A highlight of a different kind was the Big Dutchman booth party which attracted a rather big crowd. Customers and business partners were invited for German beer and good old German folk music.
When accordion player Bill Koncar, who came from Minnesota to play at the Big Dutchman booth, even managed to pull off people from other booths, trouble was sensed. For no reason, as it did not take long for many other exhibitors to come and join in on the treat. Of course, they were also served German pretzels and a glass of "real German draft."
