Print This Page Bulgaria Reports CSF in Wild Boar
BULGARIA - The veterinary authorities have reported a new outbreak of Classical Swine Fever (CSF) in one wild boar to the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE).
The Bulgarian veterinary authority sent an Immediate Notification to OIE on 15 September.
It describes a young wild boar, which was found dead on 8 September in a popular hunting area at Tutrakan in Silistra in the north of the country, near the border with Romania.
The presence of the CSF virus has been confirmed.
The last outbreak of CSF in Bulgaria was in July 2008.
