UK - Mycotoxins are frequently implicated in cases of poor reproductive performance in pig herds, though it can be difficult to prove their involvement in individual cases, says Paul Thompson, veterinary consultant to pig-breeding company ACMC Ltd.However, anecdotally at least, many farms report fewer problems after incorporation of a mycotoxin binder in the sow feed, so it is worthwhile for producers to discuss this course of action with their veterinary and nutritional advisers, he suggests.
