Danish Crown Unlikely to Get Wage Reductions

DENMARK - Hopes of the Danish Crown slaughtering sector making a recovery by reducing costs are fading, according to the UK's National Pig Association.

As a result, the flow of pigs out of Denmark to Germany will continue, as producers seek better prices than Danish abattoirs can afford to pay.

Collective bargaining with slaughterhouse employees has collapsed and from now on the negotiations will be handled by a conciliator.

This means Danish Crown is most unlikely to get the wage reductions it wanted.
