More Gloom for Danish Pig Industry
06 May 2010DENMARK - At best production of finishers in Denmark will stay static over the next few years - but more likely it will decline, according to a forecast by the Association of Danish Pig Producers.
Meanwhile weaner exports to other countries will continue to expand, from around DKK9M a year currently, to DKK13.5M in 2015.
These findings - which spell further cutbacks at Danish Crown’s uncompetitive slaughterhouses - are based on a survey of 400 members of the Association of Danish Pig Producers.
The association is critical of the way Danish Crown is managed.
