Maxgro Progeny Set a New Record

07 July 2011
Hermitage Genetics

GERMANY - Maxgro progeny from Hermitage Genetics have set a new record for growth rate at an independent test station in Germany.

The Iden Test Centre is owned and managed by the German Ministry for Agriculture and the Environment in Saxony-Anhalt. This authority is responsible for the independent evaluation and certification of pig performance tests for breeding organisations.

This year, Hermitage Maxgro progeny were evaluated and these animals set a new record, achieving the highest growth rate recorded in the progeny of terminal boars for fattening since the station starting testing in 1997 – 60g per day faster than the previous record.
