Evergreen Colony with No.1 Carcase Award

CANADA - At their annual producer banquet recently, Maple Leaf Foods recognised long time Genesus Customer, Evergreen Farms with No.1 (Signature) Award in the Canadian Pork Industry: Best Carcase for a Calendar year at Maple Leaf.
The Best Carcase award was made out of 4.43 million market hogs that Maple Leaf processes per year at their Brandon Manitoba Plant.
Evergreen results obtained for 12 months (2010-2011):
- Average carcass weight 98.7 kgs (272 lbs. livewt)
- Average backfat 16.5 mm. (.64")
- Average Loin Depth 64.0 mm (2.50")
- Average lean meat percentage 61.70 per cent
- Hogs shipped 17,346
Genesus, whose Duroc Boars and Genesus F1 Yorkshire/Landrace Females generated this winning data has sent congratualtions to Evergreen Farms for these award winning results.
Genesus Continues to set record setting results with the worlds most productive genetic program. Evergreen is 30.63 pigs weaned per sow per year for 2011, and a three year average of over 30 pigs per sow per year.
