Two New ASF Outbreaks in Krasnodar Krai

RUSSIA - There have been two new outbreaks of African swine fever in the last week, both in Krasnodar Krai, a region affected by previous outbreaks.
The veterinary authority sent Follow Up Report No. 69 dated 15 October to the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE).
It describes two outbreaks of ASF, both in Krasnodar Krai. The first started on 16 October at the open joint-stock company, Priazovskoye, in Primorsko-Akhtarsky. In all 54 animals were affected, of which four showed symptoms; two animals died and the rest of the herd was destroyed.
The second outbreak started on 20 October at a commercial farm of the closed joint-stock company, Agrocomplex, at Bryukhovetsky. One pig there died.
Krasnodar Krai, in the Black Sea area of south-western Russia, has been affected by previous ASF outbreaks.
