Russia Lifts Restrictions on Pigs from Czech Republic

08 August 2012

RUSSIA - The Russian veterinary service has announced that restrictions on the export of breeding swine from the Czech Republic to Russia have been lifted.

Exports from the Czech Republic were restricted due to the threat of brucellosis.

The Czech veterinary service is required to fulfill health and welfare guarantees for animals exported to Russia according to the current veterinary certificate when laboratory tests of animals for brucellosis are negative.

Copies of laboratory test reports with a list of animals shall be attached to the accompanying documents for every consignment of breeding swine exported to Russia from the Czech Republic.
