Veterinary Service to Hold Meeting to Combat ASF

RUSSIA - A meeting is scheduled for 14 August at 11:00 am, at the Office of the Russian veterinary service (Rosselkhoznadzor) for Bryansk and Smolensk regions, which will measures to prevent the spread of African Swine Fever (ASF) in wildlife.

The meeting will be attended by representatives of the Office of Rosselkhoznadzor.

The event is expected to discuss a wide range of issues, including:

  • Epizootic situation;
  • Measures to prevent introduction and spread of ASF in wildlife;
  • Liaising with the hunting Office in the prevention of infectious and parasitic diseases in wildlife;
  • Diagnosis of particularly dangerous diseases of wild animals.

The event will also announce the results of tests run by the Office of Rosselkhoznadzor on hunting farms in the Bryansk region of Russia and requirements of the veterinary legislation for the protection of hunting resources on the disease.
