Raf Beeren (Managing Director) kicked off the conference with explaining that focus on total system profitability will lead to maximizing genetic capacity in all parts of the pork value chain. He explained that it is all based on the understanding that everything in the chain is connected. Performance in one phase has connections upstream and downstream and are also all interconnected.

For simplicity, Hypor has divided the pork value chain into three main pillars with each three key success factors to improve profitability throughout the pork value chain:

  • Weaning Capacity: everything from breeding to weaning covering sow performance, sow efficiency and productivity
  • Finishing Capacity: everything from finishing to marketing covering management, production cost and throughput efficiency
  • Meat Capacity: encompassing pig- to pork marketing to produce high yield pork that answers to consumer needs in a sustainable way

Geert Rutten (Production Manager) and Konrad Broekman (Senior Geneticist) presented the logic behind the nine key succes factors with practical production advice and interesting insights in the world of pig genetics.

Jacques Sips (General Manager Asia) wrapped up the conference by explaining why Hypor is the clear choice in pig genetics for Asia. With some interesting leads to follow up and satisfactory attendance this pig conference was very successful for Hypor.
