USFRA to Attend Ag Media Summit

02 August 2013

US - The US Farmers & Ranchers Alliance (USFRA), a farmer and rancher led-organization building trust in today’s food production system, is inviting all to hear about the latest news and results of its consumer-facing movement on 5 and 6 August 2013 at the 2013 Ag Media Summit to be held at the Buffalo Niagara Convention Center in Buffalo, New York.

USFRA will be handing out zip drives loaded with the latest materials and infographics covering a variety of topics related to the most pressing issues in food production today. Many of these materials are also available on the FoodSource portal of

FoodSource is an online, one-stop resource designed to bring accurate online information on agriculture to the forefront. Many of the more than 80 organizations supporting USFRA have provided resources to FoodSource. USFRA continues to look for materials to add to this section of the website. Please contact us if you have information to share.

USFRA Board Member Doug Wolf, a pork producer from Lancaster, Wisconsin, with the National Pork Producers Council, will be on-hand to discuss several upcoming USFRA events and activities.

This back to school season, USFRA wants to help families make informed decisions when it comes to nutritious meals and how food gets from the farm to kids’ plates. More people have questions about food production, food safety and health. Faces of Farming & Ranching winners Chris Chinn and Katie Pratt will conduct a series of interviews with consumer media on this topic on 9 August.

USFRA has refreshed its "Food Dialogues" homepage to a magazine-style format. The newly designed website allows for a more interactive experience highlighting farmers and ranchers perspectives on today’s most hot-button issues on food production.

The alliance is looking for more farmers and ranchers to become active in telling their stories of continuous improvement to consumers and dispelling inaccurate information. The program is called the Farmer and Rancher Mobilization (FARM) team. USFRA notifies this network to help address inaccurate or negative stories in mainstream media about agriculture. More than 400 farmers and ranchers have signed up for this program. To learn more, please click here.
