Russian African Swine Fever Outbreaks Affect More Animals

RUSSIA - The Russian veterinary authorities have reported four further outbreaks of African swine fever in various regions.

The World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) received follow-up report no. 105 for the third consecutive day yesterday (17 October).

According to the report, a total of 20 wild boars were found susceptible, out of which four cases were reported. Out of the four affected wild pigs, one death was reported, while the remaining three were destroyed.

In the case of pigs. 52 animals showed signs of susceptibility, out of which one case was reported. The affected animal was destroyed.

The source of the outbreaks still remain inconclusive.
