Asger Krogsgaard was also there when, on Tuesday morning Danish time, the Chinese authorities announced that two Danish Crown companies would, as the first in the world, be given permission to export processed meat products to China.

The two companies in question are Tulip in Svenstrup and Danish Crown in Faaborg, and Mr Krogsgaard is delighted that Danish Crown’s strong focus on food safety is yet again creating new and unique market opportunities.

"It is an important day for Danish Crown because we have once again shown that we possess special competencies, and I am pleased that the Chinese authorities feel the same after visiting our factories. The next step is to start up the exporting of processed products to China. Also, we are hoping to have several more facilities approved for exports to China in the near future," said Asger Krogsgaard.
