More Wild Boar Found Dead in Rostov

RUSSIA - Nine wild boar found dead in the Rostov region of south-western Russia have tested positive for the African Swine Fever virus, writes Jackie Linden.

The veterinary authority sent Follow Up Report No. 2 dated 13 February to the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE).

It covers the discovery of nine wild boar, all dead, at Nizhnie Grachiki, which is in Rostov oblast.

Carcasses of wild boars were found on the territory of the game enterprise, Rostovskoye, near the village of Nizhnie Grachiki. Laboratory studies confirmed that the wild boars were infected with African swine fever virus. The infected carcasses of wild boars were incinerated.
