Two More Wild Boar with African Swine Fever in Tula

RUSSIA - Two wild boar have been found dead in Tula in south-western Russia; they tested positive for the African Swine Fever virus, writes Jackie Linden.

The veterinary authority sent Follow Up Report No. 6 dated 15 February to the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE).

This outlines a new case of African Swine Fever - two wild boar found dead in the region of Tula in south-western Russia on 5 February.

Carcasses of wild boars were found on the territory of the game farm, Dmitrovskoye, between the villages of Zolotiha and Hotush.

Laboratory studies confirmed that the wild boars were infected with African swine fever virus.
