Classical Swine Fever Outbreak Reported in Latvia

LATVIA - There has been one new outbreak of Classical Swine Fever (CSF) reported by the World Organisation for Animal Heath.

The outbreak was detected in Balvi county which is in the eastern part of the country.

CSF affected one wild boar which was destroyed as a result.

Since May 2013 wild boar oral vaccination against CSF virus is on-going in a CSF infected area.

The source of the outbreak is still unknown.
