GERMANY – Livestock breeding decisions will be made easier through a state subsidised computer programme, the German government has announced.
Processing all information available to livestock farms to result in the ‘best decisions’, the resultant programmes should be seen as an investment in sustainable animal husbandry.
Two three year research programmes, one worth €200,000, should result in improved livestock fertility, health and longevity, said parliamentary secretary Dr Maria Flachsbarth.
