More ASF Reported in Lithuanian Wild Boar

LITHUANIA - Three new outbreaks of African Swine Fever (ASF) have been detected in wild boar.

The outbreaks, which were reported in the East and South of the country, led to five cases.

In Alytus county (Varena district municipality, Jakenai parish), on 5 December, two wild boars were hunted. Samples collected from these boars confirmed ASF.

In Utena county (Ignalina district municipality, Rimses parish), in Part III area under restrictions established in accordance with the Annex to Commission Implementing Decision 2014/709/EU, approximately at 1 km from the border with Belarus, two wild boars were found dead and also tested positive for ASF.

In Panevezys county (Rokiskis district municipality, Kriaunai parish), one wild boar was found dead with ASF in the forest located approximately at 4 km from a previous ASF outbreak.
