MRSA Suspected in Another Norwegian Pig Herd

NORWAY - The Veterinary Institute has notified the Food Safety Authority (FSA) of a suspected case of LA-MRSA in a swine herd in Gran municipality, Oppland.

"So far the results of tests have indicated suspected LA-MRSA in a pig herd in Gran, Oppland," said Gunnlaug Moen, acting head of department at the FSA.

The farm is now under restrictions and is not allowed to transport any animals in or out of the yard until further notice.
