CHINA - Pork for pudding was on the menu at the Great British Carnivores Club dinner in Beijing, organised by UKTI as part of the Great British Food Fortnight in China.
AHDB Pork’s Mick Sloyan and international manager Peter Hardwick attended the event, held at East, an upmarket modern hotel restaurant in Beijing.
The menu was developed by the Chef Rob Cunningham of East and Scot Melvin of The Commune Social and Table No. 1
Mick said: “The four courses all featured pork, including desert which had golden syrup candy bacon on the ice cream.
“The pork was supplied by Cranswick Country Foods, who along with Karro Foods and Tulip are the UK companies currently allowed to export to China.”
The guests included the Chief Exec of the China Meat Association, Karen Morgan Agriculture and Food Councillor at the British Embassy in Beijing, William De Klein Karro Foods and AHDB Pork Board member.
