Under the plan, in the forthcoming year, the company is to establish at least a dozen new stores in the UK to distribute its products, according to senior company representatives.

“We want to open further outlets in the UK, also outside London,” said Adam Zdanowski, one of the company’s co-owners, quoted by local business daily Puls Biznesu.

“We are persuaded that our customers will not consist of Poles alone.”

The latest move follows increased sales by Polish meat companies in the UK. In 2014, local industry players exported more than PLN2.4 billion (£398 million) worth of output to the UK.

Mr Zdanowski said that ZM Wierzejki’s export sales have been gradually increasing, but, to accelerate its growth in foreign markets, the company has decided to establish its own retail network in the UK.
