ASF Continues Spread on Ukrainian, Russian, Lithuanian Pig Farms

EUROPE - More outbreaks of African Swine Fever (ASF) have been reported on pig farms in Russia, Lithuania and Ukraine.

Russia has reported 12 new outbreaks in both farmed pigs and wild boar. The outbreaks on farms were reported in the regions of Tambovskaya, Moskovskaya, Saratovskaya, Vladimirskaya and Ryazanskaya.

In total 47 cases were confirmed in pigs and there were 38 deaths and 70 destroyed as a result.

In Ukraine, one outbreak was confirmed at a pig farm in Shostka, Sumy which affected three pigs.

Lithuania has 14 outbreaks all affecting wild boar bar one which led to the death of a pig on a farm in Anyksciai district municipality which is in an ASF surveillance zone.
