The meeting will be begin with a hot buffet at 6:30pm at the Gipsy Hill Hotel, Gipsy Hill Lane, Exeter, EX1 3RJ. It will finish at approximately 9.30pm.

The NPA team will deliver updates on the key issues they have been working on, including Brexit, the potential ban on zinc oxide products and new Red Tractor standards coming in. This will be followed by a market update from Mick Sloyan on the market.

Continuing the theme of the first three regional meetings, Alex Thomsett, from the George Veterinary Group, will give a presentation on progress in recording antibiotic use and ask for views as to what targets the RUMA Targets Taskforce should consider setting for the pig industry.

The NPA, which will be represented by chairman Richard Lister in formal discussions on the new targets this summer, is keen to consult as widely as possible among its membership before submitting its proposed target.

The guest speaker is James Morrish from Kivells, who will tell us about his experiences as a Westcountry auctioneer for 20 years.

Active discussion

South West regional chairman Andrew Freemantle said: "As always, the more people that attend these meetings the more everyone will get out of them by way of active discussion, so please do make the effort to come along.

"Your views are also very important in helping the national Producer Group formulate policy on your behalf."

You can indicate your attendance by sending an email to [email protected] or telephone 02476 858780.
