UK - Following sabbatical travel in Europe, New Zealand and South America, Annabelle Hoste (née Peacock) has rejoined JSR Genetics to strengthen the company's genetics team at its Southburn, Yorkshire, headquarters, where she will assist in running the genetics programme and provide customer support on technical issues.
From a Yorkshire farming family, Annabelle gained an MSc in animal breeding and genetics at the University of Edinburgh after obtaining her BSc at Newcastle University. She then gained further practical livestock experience as a stock person and in managerial roles on farms in England and New Zealand before joining JSR Genetics in 1998, where she remained for five years.
Married to fellow pig geneticist, Sam Hoste, she lives on the family farm near Malton where her hobbies include hill walking, ski touring, cycling and rugby - until recently she was a member of Malton Ladies rugby team.
