PIG PRODUCTION MANAGER
Bedfordia Farms runs 1,100 indoor breeding sows, taking the progeny through to bacon weight over three sites in North Bedfordshire. We have a long history in pig production with recent investment committing the Farm to indoor pig production for the future.In 2005 a new finishing unit was built on a greenfield site and over the last 24 months we have redeveloped the two breeding units installing new farrowing and weaner buildings using mainly Dutch technology. Bedfordia’s pig housing and working conditions on all our sites are now some of the best in the UK, if not Europe.
Due to the forthcoming retirement of our current, long serving, Pig Manager we are recruiting for a Pig Production Manager. You must have significant experience in pig production with the ability to deliver clear leadership and motivation to our pig team, have exceptional levels of stock knowledge from breeding to finishing with a genuine interest in animal welfare.
You will also need demonstrable commercial acumen, working with the Farms MD on Farm Strategy to achieve the very highest Key Performance Indicators. You will need to demonstrate the ability and determination to consistently achieve top class results, with an open approach to new ideas and continual development of working practices.
People are the key to our success, and you will play a central role in developing our team. Previous experience of team management is essential. A full driving license is required for this role.
