An exciting opportunity has arisen for Technical Services Specialist II position.
This position provides on-site service and support to a key PIC customer system. This may include a range of activities related to genetic dissemination and production, performance improvement initiatives and specific technical or research projects aligned with key system needs and opportunities. Additionally, this position has to participate in the planning, validation and execution of general strategies of the Technical Services team.
Responsibility in helping communicate and support the implementation of PIC health, genetic, management and nutrition guidelines/specifications.
Support multipliers and commercial farms and ensure optimum performance in start-up farms. through general initiatives and/or specific projects (like increase gilt selection rate and/or increasing PSY).
Work within a team dynamic to:
- Develop new and improve existing animal husbandry practices for all phases of production
- Train staff for successful implementation and standardization.
- Audit programs after implementation.
- Ensure established targets and goals are met.
- Provide oversight of collaborative technical projects.
Develop monthly reports focused on key initiatives, project metrics and performance Identify and/or develop strategies that allow PIC customers the opportunity to improve profitability and realize a greater return on investment with PIC genetics.

Expected travel time is 30%.

A 4-year university degree (Bachelors of Science) in an animal science field preferred with a minimum of five years experience within intensive swine production systems; advanced degree beneficial
Ability to evaluate performance and financial information and help make informed decisions regarding magnitude and target of opportunities in customer and partner operations
Willing to travel both domestically and internationally
Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills - team player
Outstanding communication skills – multiple language skills preferred
Positive and proactive attitude; a fast learner
Ability to train, lead and influence others to perform at a high level.
Ideally, candidates have experience working in a global role for a company in the agriculture sector.
