Folic Acid

(638) A deficiency results in anaemia, poor weight gain and loss of hair colour. It was previously thought that the intestines of the pig were capable of producing the vitamin but recent work suggests that swine diets may be deficient and that it could have a role to play in the maintenance and improvements in litter size.
