Print This Page Pig Prices Better Than Forecast
EU - The European Commission pig management committee has reported stable European Union pig production levels with prices better than forecast in some member states, in part attributed to the move away from poultry sales arising from avian flu concerns.|
NPA is active on members' behalf in Brussels & Whitehall, and with processors, supermarkets & caterers - fighting for the growth and pros-perity of the UK pig industry. |
Initially, thought to have been transmitted by migrant workers or tourists, the outbreak is now linked with feral boar activity.
There are still concerns in Poland, caused by overproduction, low prices and external trade problems particularly with Russia and the Ukraine.
