VIETNAM - Foot-and-mouth disease, which mainly affects pigs and cattle, is raging across Vietnam, hitting 24 new provinces and cities in the last two days, the animal health department reported Thursday.Though the epidemic was previously known to spread only among animals, Vietnamese authorities warned humans were also at risk if they came in direct contact with sick animals.
