Print This Page Independent review of livestock movement rules announced
UK - Ben Bradshaw, Minister for Local Environment, Marine and Animal Welfare at the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, has announced the publication of an independent review of livestock movement rules which was undertaken by Bill Madders.
Mr Bradshaw said: “I am very grateful to Bill Madders for undertaking this review. I am aware that the current rules for moving livestock are complex and vary from species to species. It is important that we get a clear set of rules defined which are easy for farmers to understand thus reducing the risk of disease which is Defra's top threat. I look forward to reading the report and publishing the Governments Response after the Summer ”.
The review can be found at www.defra.gov.uk/animalh/movements/default.htm.
