Print This Page PIG DISEASES (Eighth edition)
UK - It is seven years, since this excellent work was updated, back in 1999.Since then, pig medicine has moved on with the introduction of new disease syndromes such as Post-weaning Multisystemic Wasting Syndrome (PMWS), now commonly being called Porcine Circovirus Associated Diseases (PCVAD), so it is essential that this work be included.
It maintains the same format of the previous edition and is also a similar, convenient, portable size, but the print is a little smaller, to accommodate all the additional information. It is an essential guide and reference for all students, vets and farms.
It is divided into sections on infectious diseases - viral, bacterial, fungal and parasitic, followed by nutritional, congenital, hereditary and miscellaneous conditions. There is a very useful 'Guide to Differential Diagnosis' section, by age group of pig and also a check list for clinical and post-mortem examinations.
It is an essential reference and guide for all involved in pig production, at a very reasonable price.
