South Korean Pork Imports Slow Down In First Half
21 August 2006SOUTH KOREA - South Korean imports of pork slackened sharply in the first half of this year as domestic meat distributors cut back on them in the run-up to the planned resumption of U.S. beef imports next month, a government report showed Sunday.
A total of 188,800 tons of pork were imported in the January-June period, up 18.9 percent from the same period of a year earlier, according to the report released by the Korea Customs Service.
