Biodiesel plant business case for Mid North
05 September 2006AUSTRALIA - The Southern Flinders Ranges Development Board is to develop a business case investigating building a canola crushing and biodiesel production plant in the Gladstone area.
"This project aims to build a business model to establish the commercial potential of producing biodiesel from locally grown canola," said Minister for Regional Development, Karlene Maywald, on announcing the government would provide $10,000 for the project.
"Canola meal from the proposed plant could also be a valuable livestock feed source for the rapidly growing intensive cattle, pig and poultry farms emerging within the Wakefield Plains and Lower North Area."
