Pig industry leader
UK - The head of the pig sector company that will replace BPEX will be appointed by government. Current chairman of BPEX is Stewart Houston. This weekend Defra will advertise posts in the Sunday Times.|

There will be two adverts:
One advert will seek applicants for three independent non-executive board members of the new Agricultural and Horticultural Levy Board.
The other will be for six board members, who will also be chairmen of the sector companies (BPEX, EBLEX etc).
John Bridge had been appointed chairman designate of the new United Kingdom statutory Agricultural and Horticultural Levy Board.
From April 2008, the new levy board will replace five existing levy boards - the British Potato Council, the Meat and Livestock Commission, the Milk Development Council, the Horticultural Development Council and the Home Grown Cereals Authority.
