Pork Checkoff to hold conference to investigate the implications of distillers grains on the U.S. pork industry
US - The Pork Checkoff will host a conference titled Distillers Grains: Implications for the U.S. Pork Industry on Nov. 20, at the Des Moines Marriott Downtown in Des Moines, Iowa.
The conference will provide pork producers with a look at the current challenges and opportunities facing them if they are considering feeding distillers grains in their operations. Speakers also will update the audience on the latest research and information related to distillers grains and how these can be managed and incorporated into a feeding regime. The economic impact of the booming ethanol industry on corn and feed prices also will be addressed.
The conference will run from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and is free. Registration is required and pre-registration is available through Nov. 15. Sponsors making the conference possible include the Iowa Corn Growers Association, the National Pork Producers Council, the National Corn Growers Association, the Iowa Pork Producers Association, the Iowa Agribusiness Export Partnership and the Renewable Fuels Association.
