Print This Page USDA Hogs/Pigs Report Doesn’t Show Industry Cutback
US - Friday afternoon, USDA released its latest report on the nation’s hogs and pigs crop.The report indicated there were 61.1 million head of hogs and pigs on the nation’s farms as of March first.
This number was one percent higher from one year ago. Breeding inventory - at 6.08 million head - was up 1 percent from last year. Market hog inventory - at 55 million head - was up 1 percent from last year.
