Print This Page Tip for needle hygiene
YORKSHIRE - Needle hygiene is very important in preventing abscesses at the site of injections.
It is frequently found that the rubber stopper of antibiotic bottles on farms is heavily contaminated with dust, says Paul Thompson, consultant vet to pig-breeding company, ACMC Ltd.
He points out that the outer plastic case in which 2ml 'Monoject' syringes are packaged, will fit snugly over the end of most 100 ml bottles and can be re-used to provide a dust-proof cover when the bottles are not in use.
