NEW ZEALAND - The pig industry is getting nervous about a proposed plan to relax meat import standards. |
Biosecurity is considering allowing untreated pig meat into the country, which farmers here say will only increase the risk of disease.
Waimate pig farmer Ian McCallum-Jackson says Biosecurity has turned a blind eye to the risks, in favour of a free trade agreement with other countries.
