Comment Period on Proposed Changes to the Livestock Mandatory Reporting Program Extended
US - The comment period on a proposed regulation to re-establish the regulatory authority for continued operation and revision of the Livestock Mandatory Reporting (LMR) program for swine, cattle, lamb and boxed beef has been extended until 24 September 2007.This rulemaking is necessary to re-establish the regulatory authority for the program’s continued operation and incorporate the swine reporting changes contained within the Reauthorisation Act.
Additionally, it will make other changes to enhance the program's overall effectiveness and efficiency based on AMS' experience in the administration of the program over the last six years.
