Prices cannot move to help meet higher production costs until this overhang has been removed, say industry leaders.
Notwithstanding the need for carcase balance, it is a matter of considerable concern that imports continue to pour in. Some of these imports must be substituted with British pork if the industry is to see its way through the difficult months ahead.
