Print This Page Ban Lifted on Pork and Poultry imports from Moscow Area
UKRAINE - The Ukraine has lifted the ban on pork and pigmeat and poultry, poultry meat products and raw materials rom Russia's Moscow region that it had imposed in 2007 due to health disease risks.There has been a considerable decline in the numbers of pigs with Classical Swine Fever at the end of the year. At the same time, the ban on the import of pork from Volokolamsky and Lotoshinsky districts remains restricted.
Also, a drop in the number of domestic birds infected by the H5N1 virus (bird flu) in the Moscow area has been registered. The virus was first reported in February 2007.
