US - USDA has approved Suvaxyn PCV2 vaccine for use in pigs as young as three weeks of age.The porcine circovirus type 2 vaccine from Fort Dodge Animal Health has been available since mid-2006, reports Pork Mag.
The vaccine is designed to allow the most appropriate vaccination protocol for specific production systems. Suvaxyn PCV2 vaccine aids in the prevention of PCV2 viremia and control of lymphoid (immune system) depletion caused by PCV2. Data approved by the USDA indicate Suvaxyn PCV2 vaccine provides four months of protection against PCVAD.
